Cliff Cheney was born in 1974 in Tacoma, Washington. He moved to Juneau, Alaska soon after, where he took up photography at the age of twelve, assisted by the gift of a Ricoh SLR camera from his mother. Hundreds if not thousands of rolls of film passed through that camera while he learned how to shoot photos. After receiving a B.A. in Journalism (with a minor in World Affairs) from Baylor University in 1996, He worked for the Baylor Office of Public Relations in the position of senior photographer until October 2005. He also spent a year as a Lab Instructor in the Baylor Journalism Department teaching B&W Darkroom Printing, Adobe Photoshop and Digital Printing. He is currently working as a freelance photojournalist in the Central Texas area. Mr. Cheney's images have appeared in USA Today, American Basketball Quarterly, Christianity Today, The Austin-American Statesman, The Houston Chronicle, The Waco Tribune-Herald, The Baptist Standard, Baylor Magazine, Baylor Line magazine, Baylor Business Review, Sports Illustrated, Sports Illustrated for Kids, SMUMustangs.com, and on ESPN's Sports Center. He was also one of the still photographers for the nationally aired PBS HD production of "Christmas At Baylor". His work has been in countless Baylor University brochures and websites. His freelance client list includes: The Austin American-Statesman, The Houston Chronicle, San Antonio Express-News, Time Inc. (Sports Illustrated & Sports Illustrated for Kids), MCI Systemhouse, Innovation Texas, Netoteric, Creative Man Studio, ANB Communications and DirecTV's ON Magazine.
